Just watch it
Generally known not to be on time, We find out why celebs have a fetish for watches.
Aishwarya Rai does it. Aamir Khan does it. So does Sushmita Sen, Kareena Kapoor and Twinkle Khanna. Endorse high-end watches that is.
While it is a known fact that Sushmita and Aamir are sticklers for deadlines but when it comes to celebritydom, one wonders what is the utility of watches as most "stars" fail to descend at the at the right spot on the right time.

We find out what a dial means to most of them, is it just a fetish to own showpieces or do they adhere to timings and hence go in for such priceless collection...
In town to launch a brand (of watch), Sushmita Sen had said, "I love to wear watches with big dials. It looks very smart and it seems time stares at you in the face."
We decided to run a check on what actors back home have to say about the watch factor. Actor June said, "A watch has always been a bare essential for me because I am scared of running late and I hate that.
There was a time when I would even go to sleep with my watch on because that ensured I would wake up on time for shoots. I have around seven watches. All from affordable brands and none very expensive."

Gargi Roy Chowdhury, however, does not use a watch because she feels her body clock is perfectly timed to her schedule. "Uttam Kumar used to reach the sets before time so does Amitabh Bachchan.
This is something that you have to have within you. The watch has to be in your mind." True. Actor Prosenjit agrees, "After so many years in the film industry your body clock gets timed."
The actor, sitting in his office wearing an elongated-dialled-unusual looking watch, said, "My whole day is time-driven. Sometimes I feel there should be a watch showing more than 24 hours in day."
For some Tollywood actors, though, watch is no less an accessory. Actor Rituparna Sengupta said, "I like to wear funky watches especially the ones with multi-coloured dials and straps. After I got the National Award, my husband Sanjay got me a Swiss watch which I treasure a lot.
I also own a steel dial and a diamond shaped watch which I like a lot. I also have a number of expensive branded watches in my collection." How much does the watch help her in keeping time? "No one wants to run late but sometimes there are days when your schedule turns topsy-turvy.
There are so many other factors at work as a result, the watch can do little to put you on the the right time frame," signed off Rituparna.
Actor Jeet has a collection of seven watches. Most of them (needless to say) are very costly. Jeet, needs those showpieces as he makes it a point to reach the designated spot before time.
